Retail wall art – Sylvia Park Shopping Centre

Sylvia Park has continued to grow and expand and as they move to building a new layer in their impressive shopping centre. Many of their existing retailers have jumped at the chance to shift location to the new development area.

With these movements and new retailers coming into Sylvia Park, we were faced with a new challenge.

Due to multiple fit outs and tenancy movements, Sylvia Park were faced with a large-scale challenge of hoardings and white space across the store frontages.

Our goal was to turn these bland store fronts impacting the environment around them, to be more appealing for customers.

We needed to consider customers looking for where a store has moved to within the centre and at the same time ensure we were connecting harmoniously with the rest of the environment.

Our solution was to create an engaging retail wall art series – colourful illustrative, playful artworks that felt fresh and current.

Each space needed to be addressed individually as well as feeling part of the wider theme. Creatively, the visual approach has real synergy with the large-scale carpark wall art and exterior hoardings we’ve been working on with Sylvia Park so there was real consistency of experience for customers throughout their journey.

In each instance colour was carefully considered to ensure these interior traffic areas remained warm and bright.

Information graphics and directional maps were thoughtfully incorporated into the designs to inform of retailer locations and positioned to be easily read by customers.

Feedback on the value and creativity of our work was incredibly positive from a wide circle of stakeholders, from the Kiwi Property Executive to centre management, retailers and shoppers within the centre.
